Nylon Cable Gland Metric M32

Nylon Cable Gland Metric M32

Details:
When you work with extra-large power cables, a solid seal is critical. The Nylon Cable Gland Metric M32 is built exactly for this job. It handles cables with an outer diameter from 18 mm to 25 mm. The body is made of PA66 polyamide with a UL94 V-0 flame rating. It operates safely from -40 °C to +100 °C. The thread is a standard M32×1.5 size.

Product Overview

product-1280-1280

Thread a heavy feeder through a machine wall and the fitting on that hole has two jobs: keep the weather out, and carry the weight of the run. The Nylon Cable Gland Metric M32 does both for 18–25 mm sheaths, clamped onto the cable so the load never reaches the studs behind the plate.

A lead this thick hangs on its entry all day, and a fitting that only seals lets the sheath creep until the grip is gone.

Technical Specifications

Figures for this size. Read the thread line first: an M32×1.5 body and a PG body of similar diameter are not the same thread.

Item Specification
Thread Form M32 × 1.5 metric - verify the tapped form, not the drilled diameter
Thread Major Diameter 32 mm
Threaded Length 15 mm as standard; a 20 mm version for thick walls
Panel Cut-Out 32.5 mm, edge filed smooth before fitting
Sheath Diameter Range 15–25 mm *
Length, End To End About 50 mm
Wrench Flats 36 mm
Wall Thickness Supported 1–6 mm as standard, up to 12 mm on the long-thread version
Gasket Compounds EPDM as standard, −40 to +100 °C; NBR on request, −30 to +120 °C; silicone on request, −55 to +180 °C
Body Service Temperature PA66 holds its mechanical values from −40 to +120 °C
Ingress Protection IP68 under correct installation; IEC 60529 leaves depth and time to agreement between maker and user
Flame Classification UL94 V-2 as standard, V-0 on request
Pull Relief The gasket is clamped onto the sheath, so a tug arrives at the fitting and not at the studs inside
RoHS / REACH RoHS (2011/65/EU); REACH, no SVHC over the threshold
Referenced Standards IEC 60529 covers the ingress method. No product standard is quoted for this item; confirm the one your project calls for
Minimum Order (site standard) Set by the build; trial volumes can be discussed
Production Lead Time (site standard) 7 to 10 days for standard items, 15 to 20 days for custom work
Warranty (site standard) 12 to 24 months from the date of shipment
Quality System (site standard) ISO 9001
Packing (site standard) Export cartons
Shipping Ports (site standard) Ningbo / Shanghai
Quote Within One working day of receiving the thread form, sheath diameter and quantity

Core Advantages

Four decisions separate a fitting that carries a heavy cable from one that lets go.

Grip Sized For A Hanging Run

The nut closes a multi-lip gasket onto the sheath, so a tug stops at the fitting and not at the studs.

Two Sealing Faces, Not One

One gasket closes on the sheath, another seals the tapped hole behind it.

Weathering Inside The Compound

The UV package is compounded into the PA66, not coated on, so nothing chalks off.

One Body For Thin Plate And Cast Wall

A 1 mm plate and a 12 mm cast wall take the same cut-out.

Nylon Compression Gland Versus Brass At 25 mm

Brass is what most buyers weigh against this fitting at 25 mm, and each gives up something.

Point Of Comparison This Nylon Body A Brass Body
How the sheath is held Multi-lip gasket closed onto it by the nut Compression ring or armour clamp, with sealing as a separate part
Under a steady pull The gasket takes the pull and stays compressed Highest pull-out capacity; the usual answer for armoured cable
What has to stay dry Two faces: the sheath, and the tapped hole behind it The cable; the tapped hole needs its own washer
Continuity to earth Not needed - the body is an insulator A metal route through the body; earth tag and nut as standard
After years of weather No plated surface to nick or oxidise at the flats Plating wears at the wrench flats, and corrosion starts there
Mass and price per entry Lighter, and cheaper per hole Heavier and more costly

Professional Production Process

Five stations between the resin and the carton, each closing on a check written to the batch record.

1

Body, nut and gasket carrier are moulded to the M32×1.5 thread form.

2

Gaskets come off tooling cut for this band of sheath diameters.

3

Gasket, body and nut go together, and the thread is run end to end.

4

Samples from each batch face a thread gauge, a grip test and a seating check.

5

Packing checks the flame-grade mark, so a V-0 order cannot ship with standard bodies.

Material & Surface Treatment Options

Two choices travel with the order.

Housing: PA66 In Two Flame Grades

Bodies are moulded to UL94 V-2, with a V-0 grade where the specification asks for it.

Gaskets: Three Compounds, Chosen By Heat

EPDM suits outdoor cabinets, NBR answers oil mist, and silicone is for entries beside a heat sink.

Application Scenarios

Three walls this size meets in service.

Heavy Machinery Distribution Boxes

Machine-frame cabinets fed by flexible leads that travel with the equipment; the run hangs on its entry all day.

Outdoor High-Power Inverter Entries

Solar and storage inverters outdoors: thick runs, all-day sun, and a heat sink warming the wall the fitting passes through.

Motor Terminal Boxes And Site Lighting

Motor boxes, floodlight heads and wastewater panels, wherever a large sheath crosses a wall that must stay dry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which sheath diameters actually fit?

A: The gasket closes on the outside of the cable, so quote the sheath, not the conductor. The published band is 15–25 mm; measure at the entry, clear of the ends.

Q: The run is heavy and it hangs on this fitting. What holds it?

A: The nut closes a multi-lip gasket around the sheath, so the pull is taken there rather than by the studs behind the wall. No pull-out figure is published for this size; ask for one. With armoured cable, brass wins.

Q: What keeps water out, and will it still be dry next year?

A: One gasket closes on the sheath, another ring seals the tapped hole behind it; both need correct installation. IEC 60529 leaves depth and time to be agreed, so ask for the test report.

Q: Which gasket compound should I specify?

A: EPDM for outdoor cabinets, NBR where oil mist is present, silicone near a heat source. Pick by the hottest local temperature.

Q: My wall is thicker than 6 mm and the tapping may not be metric.

A: Order the long-thread version; the cut-out stays 32.5 mm. Confirm the enclosure standard first - metric and PG bodies look alike and do not interchange. Send the tapping form, sheath diameter and quantity for a price inside a working day.
