Preparation before wiring: Double protection of tools and safety
Before wiring, prepare the following tools: Phillips screwdriver (for opening the cover), wire strippers (for stripping the insulation of the wires), and a voltage tester (for testing the power supply). For safety, remember to disconnect the power before operating! First, unplug the power cord from the power strip, or directly turn off the main power switch. Wear insulated shoes, keep your hands dry, and avoid touching other conductors with metal tools to prevent short circuits and electric shock.
Wiring Steps: Complete Guide from Disassembly to Assembly
Disassembling the Outer Shell: Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the back of the power strip and gently pry open the outer shell (do not use excessive force, as some clips are easily broken).
Identifying the Wires: There are usually three wires inside-live wire (red/brown), neutral wire (blue/black), and ground wire (yellow-green). If there are only two wires, it means there is no ground wire. It is recommended to choose a power strip with a ground wire for safety.
Wiring Sequence: First connect the ground wire (if present) → then the neutral wire → finally the live wire. Insert the wires into the corresponding terminals and tighten the screws with a screwdriver to ensure the wires are firmly secured.
Assembling the Outer Shell: After checking that there are no foreign objects inside, close the outer shell and tighten the screws.
